Kicking off with a bang, Rhythm Rugs maiden party is bringing you three floors of uproar. Jozef K is bringing the main room heat for an extended 3-hour set, with support from Matty from Chequered Wax. With special guests REES and Swales from Rhythm Department on the ground floor and Gina from Lucid Juice with Face2Face (dig B and Charlie B ) in the basement curating their own juicy flavours all night.

In the process, he’s managed to curate a distinct and infectious sound for the label with a knack for selecting grooves to get you moving. From 1 til 3 on the ground floor we have the hero status, twister of disco that is REES. Founder of Paradiso Records, Middlesbrough, REES has curated a catalogue of artists releasing certified thumpers from Italo to EBM and trance inspired records, a sound that belongs on dance floors. REES’ most recent release on Permanent Vacation Records, Munich, is a record reminiscent of a party everyone wants to be invited to. He’s appeared on Rinse FM and even had DJ Mag sining his praises at just 22 years old in his own feature! This ones sure to rock the Ground Floor at Deaf Institute!
Swales
Endlessly groovy, the provider of jams beyond doubt that is Swales will be blessing us with two hours of zest. Come over and step into a soundscape provided by a man so well versed in moving peoples feet that you you’ll be cutting shapes in the queue. After his immense successes with so many releases of not only his own productions, but the many impeccable releases on his label Rhythm Department Records, Swales’ has gone nowhere but up. Prepare to get down. 11-1 on the ground floor!
