Betty Taylor is the friend who holds your hand after a heartbreak. Fronted by Sophie Patrick, with harmonies and dreamy guitar from Kayla Smart (AKA Dorah Jacson), the band is rounded out by Claire Chittick (bass) and Katie Ishaque (drums).
From an open mic to a backyard show just 2 and half years ago, Betty Taylor has quickly grown into one of Australia’s most beloved emerging acts. After signing with Hello Gardener in late 2022, their debut single Stallin’, produced by Aidan Hogg (G Flip, Holy Holy), premiered on triple j and has since clocked close to a million streams.
In 2023, the band joined global agency WME and hit the stage alongside girl in red, Beddy Rays, and The Rubens, as well as appearances at major festivals including Groovin the Moo and Big Pineapple. Their second single Glitter earned strong triple j support and a national boost via Australian Made with Abbie Chatfield.
Breakout tracks Can’t Get Enough and Young Dumb Immature landed in triple j’s top ten most-played tracks and secured major Spotify, Apple, and YouTube editorial playlisting – featuring on the covers of Fresh Finds, Indie Arrivals, and New Music Friday.
After a massive debut tour of the UK, Ireland, and Europe supporting The Grogans, Betty Taylor released their debut EP Young Dumb Immature in December 2024. The EP sparked significant airplay in the US (charting top 20 on NACC) and opened international doors, leading to an official showcase at SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas.
With over 3 million+ streams and a rapidly growing global fanbase, Betty Taylor now has major festival appearances and headline tours booked across the UK, Europe, USA, and Australia. With heartfelt songwriting and an undeniable live show, Betty Taylor has cemented their place as one of indie music’s most exciting rising acts.
