25-year-old musician, barrett was born and raised in the western North Carolina mountain town

of Boone, NC.

Born with a guitar in his hands, barrett was highly influenced by the Appalachian music tradition

he heard while growing up. Raised by a people who found common place in sitting and enjoying

the mountains while jamming their numerous instruments together, barrett was encouraged at

every step to continue playing and singing to the instruments that made him feel most alive.

Barrett released a Deluxe EP titled “Appalachian Home” in October 2025. Having played all

across the United States, he was able to open for Sam Barber, Evan Honer, and Max McNown

last year as well as go on his first ever headline tour playing shows in Los Angeles, Nashville,

and New York City.

Today, barrett is a Boone, NC born musician who seamlessly blends the Appalachian bluegrass

tradition that gave him his start with the contemporary influences of artists like the Backseat

Lovers, Shakey Graves, Mumford and Sons, and Bon Iver. Primed for nuance and driven by a

deep love for grassroots music that has over time become his own, he continues to honor his

mountain roots while carving out a distinctive path in the modern folk landscape. His music

serves as a bridge between generations of Appalachian storytelling and the contemporary

sounds that inspire him, inviting listeners to experience the mountains that made him who he is.
