Coming up at The Deaf Institute we have some incredible LGBTQ+ artists within our acts headlining our stage.

We strive to create a safe space for all and everyone is welcome through our doors.

PETROL GIRLS

First up we have the incredible Petrol Girls, ten years on after forming in London in 2012 before heading out to Austria. The band is named after the historical Pétroleuses and is outspokenly feminist. Their latest album ‘Baby’ is loud, aggressive and powerful and we can’t wait to hear what they’ve got to say.

Petrol Girls join us on Friday 7th October and you can grab tickets and read all about them here.

ARCH FEMMESIS

Birthed from Nottingham’s underground Queer scene, ARCH FEMMESIS are an electro punk duo formed by Performance Artist ZERA TØNIN and androgynous synthesist MEDDLA. Their blend of brooding, chaotic basslines with intense, psychosensual poetry creates an intoxicating mix that horrifies and hypnotises the audience.

Arch Femmesis join us on Thursday 20th October and you can grab tickets and read all about them here.

BIG JOANIE

Big Joanie are a Black feminist punk band whose passionate live shows and punk rock ethos have led to them becoming one of the most talked about bands on the UK live scene. The band formed in the heart of London’s DIY punk scene in 2013 and acts as a space where its members (singer/guitarist Stephanie Phillips, drummer Chardine Taylor-Stone, and bassist Estella Adeyeri) can be completely themselves as black women.

Big Joanie join us on Tuesday 17th January 2023 and you can grab tickets and read all about them here.
