THEY CAME FROM THE TREES

BLOG POSTED 03.12.18 – AUTHOR. DEAF INSTITUTE

In trying times, resistance and resilience are born from the undergrowth of artistic communities. Across the UK countless small venues & grassroots art spaces are being forced to shut their doors, threatening to leave us with only the sounds of gentrified synthetic pop.

A fine example of the unique, creative & strange that the world so desperately needs are the London based woodland creatures, Snapped Ankles. Through years of playing warehouse parties & live sound tracking visual installations, the Stoke Newington quartet have vastly evolved their Post-Punk, Krautrock sound. Gliding seamlessness across the spectrum of devilishly playful and absolutely belting with an anonymous hedge-folk atheistic.

The embodiment of weird with human driven electronics, itchy guitars & crashing bass played by 3 folk dressed as The Dawn Of The Yeti, so cool it almost seems accidental. Catch them in the music hall Wednesday 6th March.
