GOO TURNS 3 ON FRIDAY

AUTHOR. DEAF INSTITUTE

When GOO launched its tub-thumping indie tribute 3 years ago, nobody could have predicted its rise to one of Manchester’s biggest club nights. Apart from 90s zodiac queen, Mystic Meg, who was quoted saying, “I predict this will rise to one of Manchester’s biggest club nights!” Still got it, Meg!

Now it sits among the giants of indie grunge and its time to celebrate a massive third birthday this Friday 16th October.

“I used to wash my hair every third Friday but now I’m all about GOO! And my hair stinks.” Jarvis Cocker – Pulp.

“I was planning on staying in and waiting for my dial up Internet to load a funny cat picture, but then I heard GOO are having a birthday bash and my plans changed dramatically!” Screech – Saved By the Bell.

“It’s games night at Grandma’s but I’ve let her down gently! Count me in!” Tim Burgess – Charlatans.

Our resident GOO DJ’s Ted and Jonny are ready to serve a Britpop cocktail with some indie smashers including Pulp, Blur, Pavement, Nirvana, Sleeper, Suede, Charlatans, Sonic Youth, MBV, Teenage Fanclub, Reef, Dodgy, Jesus Jones, Weezer, Echobelly, Stone Roses, Granddaddy, Pixies and loads more guitar smashing legends.

With free entry and free hooch before 11, Kate Moss has booked her cab for 10!
